We’re looking for creators with unique voices and POVs, so please submit pitches for series that represent your unique perspective! Participating networks include Comedy Central and truTV, and we will also accept non-comedy projects for consideration by Paradigm Talent Agency. Just make sure your project represents the talented creator that you are!

You will need to submit a bio, a link to a work sample that is representative of your work, as well as the pitch for the project that you’d like to work on. It can be a brand new concept, or an expansion of a project you’ve already been working on. You may submit as a solo creator or as a team.

The ideal participants for this program are creators who have already made an impact in film or episodic storytelling and would love to expand their concepts to reach a larger audience on TV.

Submission deadline: August 31st, 2017, 11:59PM PST

Submission Fee: $10 per submission

Submission Limit: None! Submit as many different pitches as you want.

Representation: No representation is required. Everyone is allowed to submit whether or not you have an agent/manager.

Genres: Comedy, Drama & Unscripted

Selected pitches will be contacted directly before September 20th, 2017

If you are selected to pitch at the festival, we will work with you in the weeks leading up to craft your pitch and further develop your concept (either in person in NYC or virtually).  We will rehearse at the festival and the final pitch day will take place at iTVFest in Manchester, VT on October 12th & 13th, 2017.  After hearing all of the pitches, each participating company will select at least one creator for a development meeting.

Executives attending include:

Ari Pearce - VP Talent & Development at Comedy Central

Christine Walters - Executive Producer, Development & Original Programming at truTV

Big Vision Empty Wallet is an incubator and Big Vision Creative is a production company.  Big Vision Creative will be attached to produce any of the projects that we develop together, if they are sold to a participating network or company.  If you are coming to the program with work you’ve already created, you will retain all rights to your IP.  This will all be laid out in an agreement if you are accepted!

Dani Faith Leonard and Alex Cirillo are producers and the Co-founders of Big Vision Empty Wallet, a film & media incubator, and Big Vision Creative, a development and production company.   Founded in 2010, Big Vision Empty Wallet is a film and media incubator that produces programs that support creators and get projects made and seen. In October 2015, they launched the Kickstart Diversity Program for feature films, an incentive program designed to support film and TV projects with inclusive teams. Other incubator programs include the Creators Program for series and new media creators and a development program in Costa Rica.  At development and production company Big Vision Creative, the founders produce feature films, develop series, and nurse their hangovers.

Current producing projects include narrative feature THE LIGHT OF THE MOON (Audience Award SXSW ‘17), and environmental documentary POWER OF PEARL, currently in post production.  Kickstart Diversity project HOW TO TELL YOU’RE A DOUCHEBAG, co-produced by Cirillo, premiered at Sundance 2016 and sold to BET, AMC and Sundance Selects.  In addition to film and TV, the Big Vision founders have produced over 300 interactive events and live productions.  They have lead conversations about audience building, distribution, and creative collaboration at the Sundance Film Festival, Savannah Film Festival, aTVfest, SeriesFest, and the Downtown Las Vegas Project. In 2014-2015, they produced and hosted Big Vision Creatives, a live streamed show powered by ABC News.

Cirillo got her start at Washington Square Arts & Films where she produced TV pilots, commercials and digital content. Her upcoming short film, A.M. Lukas’ ONE CAMBODIAN FAMILY PLEASE FOR MY PLEASURE starring Emily Mortimer will be released on TNT and Refinery29 as a part of their Shatterbox Anthology, with creative support from the Sundance Institute’s Women at Sundance Program.

Dani is also a comedy creator and has a background in theatre. In 2016, her comedy work was featured in Esquire, Nylon, Refinery 29, Entertainment Weekly, and more.

It takes a small team of professional producers a lot of time to read the pitch submissions, develop the selected pitches, and match the best pitches to the networks. These professionals don't work for free. Basics such as time spent and expenses need to be compensated.
